BRYAN SLADE

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Bryan’s career started in 1989 where he worked in the leisure industry for 21 years, towards the end of his leisure career Bryan taught first aid and lifeguard courses under the banner of Skills for Life, this then changed to My Skills for Life. He then left the leisure industry and joined Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service (WF&RS) as a Health & Safety and Environmental Assistant Advisor. Whilst there he gained his NEBOSH and Level 4 FE teaching qualification. His specialised training subjects were PPE, Manual Handling and Risk Assessments. Bryan continued teaching First Aid, Lifeguarding and now Health & Safety courses.

Bryan delivers all of Debenhams Health & Safety course to the store Selling Support Team around the UK and ROI and then in 2014 he developed, and delivered the Manual Handling Instructors course for Debenhams in ROI.

In 2014 Bryan worked on the Glasgow Commonwealth Games as one of their Health & Safety Advisors, working with the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Glasgow City Council and other various stake holdings ensuring Glasgow 2014 was one of the most successful Commonwealth games ever.

The last 3 years he and the rest of the My Skills for Life Ltd team have been focusing on event management, providing Medical, first aid and health & safety cover and support to all types of events.

The company now in its 5th year goes from strength to strength.

CAROL NOAKES

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR & TRAINER

Carol has been in the childcare industry since leaving college at 21, going from babysitter to nanny to nursery nurse then finally to nursery manager so she brings over 25 years of paediatric experience to her first aid training.

During her time in childcare, Carol sat through many a paediatric first aid course and even completed her Level 3 in First Response in Emergency Care to assist as an event medic in her spare time. After the birth of her first grandchild in 2021, she stepped away from her beloved nursery career for a new start as a first aid trainer with My Skills for Life.

As the company developed, Carol took over the role of administrator whilst still continuing to teach her favourite Paediatric First Aid courses.

GEORGIA PHIPPS

SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING COORDINATOR

Georgia joined the team in 2022 after having a baby in the middle of the pandemic prompted her to change careers. Before joining MSFL ltd, Georgia was an Early Years Practitioner and has completed both Paediatric and Emergency First Aid courses run by My Skills for Life.
